Silly survey

I’m supposed to be doing math homework at the moment, but somehow am finding a million and one distractions.

I jacked this survey from Christina!

1. Are you more of a morning, afternoon, or night person?

I’m definitely a night person.  It’s definitely easier for me to stay up than to get up early.  My internal clock will let me sleep all morning!

2. What is your favorite book / magazine?
Favorite books:

  • Secret Garden (I love this one too!!)
  • Little Princess
  • cliche but true: Hunger Games.  I love them so much I have the hardcover books AND the audiobooks so I can listen in the car.  Maybe I should get the electronic ones for my Kindle Fire…

Magazines:

  • Women’s Health, I hate subscriptions, this is the only one I subscribe to
  • Glamour
  • Cooking Light

3. What is your favorite thing in your closet?

Tough one.  Probably my shoes.

I would love if these were in my closet

4. What are your top 5 favorite music artists?

  1. Imogen Heap/ Frou Frou
  2. Paramore
  3. Jack Johnson
  4. Blue October
  5. Dierks Bentley
How’s that for random?

5. What are your top 5 favorite movies?

  1. Beauty and the Beast
  2. Bridesmaids
  3. House Bunny (I can’t help it, I think it’s hilarious)
  4. Easy A (see above)
  5. Taken

6. What is your favorite holiday and why?
Christmas.  Totally.  I love the smell of the fresh trees and wreaths and all the twinkling lights!

7. Do you have any weird phobias?
I can’t share my pillow with my husband.  I don’t want to get his “face germs” (aka the oils that rub off and cause acne).  I don’t like being dirty.  But for some reason I have no problem not always showering after the gym (TMI?).

OH, and I have an irrational fear of bad car accidents.

8. What is your most embarrassing moment?
Probably when I was doing box jumps at the gym and nearly fell on my a$$.  I made a somewhat graceful save but probably the whole gym saw.

9. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
I really like living in Boise to be honest.  Oh oh!  But if I had unlimited funds, then definitely Victoria, BC.

10. What is your favorite food?
Avocado.  And biscuits and gravy.  (But not together) Truth.

11. What is your weirdest injury?
Probably when I was playing with Hunter and I weaved and he bobbed, and we collided heads and spit my face open.  Luckily, it’s kind of in my eyebrow so you can’t see the scar too much.

12. What is your favorite store to shop at?
Sephora.  I mean hello.

13. If someone visited your city/town, where would you take them?

  • tablerock
  • the old train depot.
  • the greenbelt (a path along the Boise river)
  • in the summer, lucky peak lake.  in the winter, Bogus Basin (sledding)
  • downtown

14. What would your ideal day look like?
Go to the gym, have a leisurely breakfast/lunch, walk with my pups,  go shopping (of course everything would look/fit perfectly on me), lay on the beach (apparently I need to move), get a pedicure/massage, get my hair/makeup done,  go to a nice dinner, preferably fresh seafood.  I need to be a celebrity.

wow.  I swear I’m not that vain.

15. Where do you want to be and what do you want to be doing in 5 years?
Finished with school and preggo!

Livefit update:

Finished with week 6!  My body feels tired and I couldn’t wait for my rest day.  I’ve been making sure to do plenty of stretching and foam rolling.  Feels so good!

My clothes continue to fit better and my confidence is high!  I come to the gym, I work hard, eat right and it’s paying off big time.

Not on my to-do list.

I was gone last week.  What happened?

This.

Rear ended

Yeah, not on my to-do list.

It doesn’t look so bad on the the outside but the inside of the trunk?  Crumpled.  Amazing how quickly repair costs add up.

Aside from some whiplash and general confusion, I’m ok. Probably gonna live. 😉

I left my entire gym bag at the gym overnight.  I went with J, so he had his keys.  Luckily I had my phone with me, but my keys were in it.  I have no idea where I might have left it.  Luckily, someone turned it in (and didn’t go through it and take anything) but boy did I feel dumb.

You shoulda seen the other guy.

Yeah.  Now you get an idea of what happens when you hit someone stopped going 35-40 mph.

So that happened.

Kind of put a kink in my workout schedule, but I was able to at least get the tail end of week 5 livefit in.

Let me share some happy pictures with you:

It sprinkled snow.

I won Erica’s Chobani giveaway.  Got to try the three new flavors: blood orange, apple cinnamon and passion fruit.

Favorite was blood orange, followed by apple cinnamon.  Passion fruit? meh, so not a fan of seeds in my yogurt.

Puppy cuteness:

Summery salad.

Black beans, red onion, corn, tomatoes, avocado, cilantro, olive oil, lime juice, S&P

Tasty little peppers:

Quick LiveFit update:

Saturday’s leg workout?  New level of soreness.

Bring it on week 6.  Half way there!

A New Addition

I was originally going to name this post “On Fire” (which I will get to in a minute) but come on, this clearly takes presidence:

Meet Jax our German shepherd!

Meet Jax!  Our new German shepherd pup!

He is just barely 7 weeks, but so cute!  He cries and grunts like a piggie a lot but he is just a little darling.

He follows Hunter all over the back yard and anytime Hunter drinks water, he wants a drink too.  Hunter is thrilled… I think.

In other, less cute news, here’s the update on LiveFit:

Last week, (week 3) my body was ON FIRE!!  Mostly my legs.  There were 5 workouts this week (the last two weeks were only 4) and while it wasn’t brutal, it was definitely a step up from weeks 1 and 2!  I felt like I was at the gym to WORK!

I can tell I am getting stronger because I am able to do a little more weight almost every week and am definitely getting less sore.  I’ve been foam rolling like a mad woman and I think that has helped!

I’ve weighed myself here and there (no change) and also got a BMI test.  Now I know they aren’t 100% accurate, but it was a good idea of where I stand and where I want to be. Sometimes, the truth can be brutal.  Just one more reason to eat as clean as I can.

I’m happy to say that I am starting to notice little changes in how my clothes fit.  My jeans are more comfortable and some of the sleeves on my shirts and dresses are a little looser.

Until now, I hadn’t really dealt with any cravings, since I use Saturday as a free day of sorts.  But I have started to crave sugar!  Peppermint tea is supposed to curb sweets cravings and promote digestion, so I’ve been having a cup almost every night.

I tried out Jaime’s pumpkin protein bars, which are pretty tasty.  Though I’m a bit ashamed of jumping on the “healthy baked goods wagon. 😉  I don’t know what is happening to me!

I even made protein oatmeal and have to say, it was the best I’ve ever had.

This week I made the turkey meatloaf muffins.

I have to admit, I was skeptical that they would be dry and bland, but the chipotle pepper spice really is worth hunting down!  Since I didn’t have dry mustard, I just replaced it with the kind in a bottle.   Very full of flavor!

My absolute favorite meal of week three was spaghetti night!

Spaghetti squash with homemade sauce and ground turkey.

I was glad I had lots left over!
