Some exciting news, I passed my skills and written test for my CNA! I should be getting my official card in the mail this week. Horray! I’ve been looking for and applying to jobs at the hospitals. I hope I find something that is both challenging and a great fit for me.
So today is my 26th birthday. No big plans really. Possibly a movie (any good ones out right now?) and maybe a slice of cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. I’ll be spending it with my honey and that’s the best present a girl could ask for.
Oh, and I’m headed to the gym early in the morning for an extra special treat:
After being inspired and totally blown away by Janetha’s post, I’ve decided to take on the Jaime Eason 12 week challenge!!
I won’t be posting before and after pictures because I, personally, don’t feel comfortable posting those kind of pictures on the internet for all to see. (Not that I think there is anything wrong with people who do!)
I want to stay away from numbers, I might weigh myself once a week. But I haven’t decided on that.
I will likely do measurements of arms, waist, legs, etc to chart my progress but I don’t know that I will share them here. People’s bodies are all different and I don’t want to cause competition.
I will most likely post my before and after BMI.
I’ve never tried a program like this before but I’ve decided to give it a try for the following reasons:
-I’ve got an awesome friend who’s game to do it together
-I’m not afraid of working hard at the gym
-My eating habits could be a little cleaner
-I want to have a stronger mind and more endurance
-I’m committed to sticking with it
Do I think I’ll come out looking like a fitness model when I’m finished? Of course not.
Do I hope to lose some lingering weight? Yes.
Wish me luck and hold me accountable!
Since it’s my birthday, and I love lists I’ve decided to make the following:
26 Things I’ve Learned in 26 years
1. Socks first, then shoes.
2. If it’s breakable, I will break it. It it’s unbreakable, I will find a way.
3. Be nice. It goes a long way. That being said…
4. Stand up for yourself because no one else will.
5. When all else fails, hug the dog.
7. Stop worrying about other people and start competing with yourself.
8. Sometimes people are mean, but that doesn’t mean it’s your fault.
9. Food poisoning is a terrible thing. Terrible thing, indeed.
10. You can feel sore tomorrow, or you can feel sorry tomorrow.
20. Do something that relaxes/ recharges you at least weekly.
21. Happiness is being married to your best friend.
You’ve probably seen some of these on pinterest. Because that’s where I got them. Hey, I didn’t say these were all original!

happy birthday!!! hope it's a great year
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Got your email this morning, I am excited for you! I hope your day is wonderful!!!!
Thanks!
Happy Birthday Meg! I remember your 19th birthday when someone borrowed an A&W mug from us for you for your party to match the ice cream cake. Seems like yesterday!
Happy Birthday MEG!!! I love the idea of your 12 week challenge. I and I can't wait to hear how you do — although I know you will kill it! I've seen you in bodypump and you are amazingly strong! Good luck!
Yes Heather I do remember that!
Happy (belated) birthday!!! I hope yesterday was FABULOUS!! Cheesecake is usually my cake of choice as well…Nothing–NOTHING–beats it! Yay for LiveFit trainer! I haven't shared this on my blog yet, but I'm switching from BFL to LiveFit. I actually started yesterday, so we can do this journey together! Oh, and by the way, you HAVE to try Jamie Eason's pumpkin protein bars. They are so so so good! I also made the meatloaf muffins last night and they are pretty fab as well–perfect for grabbing on your way to class.
Love you!! I'm coming home for spring break, so I demand a date then, k? xoxoxo
Oh, and I forgot to say congrats on passing your skills test!!! <3
Yes! It has been far too long since I've seen your pretty face! I am way excited that you are doing LiveFIt!
I hope you had a good birthday, my friend! And good luck with that program! I'm good friends with 4 of the bloggers currently doing it and they're really liking the results so far!
I didn’t realize how many people were trying it out! Really though, it’s a great program. I especially like that it’s not super OCD.
Love this post! Well done on passing your test, and Happy Birthday!
Thanks Sarah!
yea!! hello!! and happy birthday!
Thanks doll!
congrats on the move!!! the blog looks pretty!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Thanks! What a triumph!
Happy birthday sweetheart
oh my goodness I love your blog and the way you write <3 your layout is fabulous too! i am in LOVE! xo
Ok, so I am so so so so so x 1000000000000000 proud of you for taking part in Jamie's trainer
If you don't know already, I am doing it, too
I like how you said you are staying away from the numbers
good for you girl So many people who have started the trainer get very very very hung up on the meal plan too. Just eat clean and you will be great
don't stress or over analyze stuff
I see you said that you will pay attention to your before and after BMI though. I would suggest not doing this as you may GAIN weight due to gaining muscle mass
you might lose inches but gain muscle
see, from my experience, my jeans are looser, but I weight more
because of more muscle! so perhaps BMI isn't the way to go?
I think it is all about how YOU feel
Your body fat % will also go down and the BMI calculation does not take that into account
so you might be less body fat and your BMI can still be high! Professionals are using BMI charts less and less
just thought I would give you a heads up
love u
You are too sweet! Good thoughts about BMI!
I know that I’ve definitely put on muscle just within the last year. I’m glad you’re doing Jaime’s program too! Can’t wait to read your thoughts on it!
HAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPYYYYYYYYYY belated! So fabulous. Love this post
My favorite: You can feel sore tomorrow, or you can feel sorry tomorrow.
Thank you! That is definitely one of my favorites! It has helped me get off my butt SO many times!
